Base to Base Gondola:
The newly approved and highly anticipated Base to Base Gondola also known as the California Express will provide transportation for skiers and Snowboarders between Squaw Valley and Alpine Meadows. This project will no doubt enhance the skier experience, joining 6,000 acres of terrain without needing to get in the car.
The California Express will feature 8-person cabins, 2 base terminals, 2 mid stations, 33 lift towers, and will be able to transport 1,400 people per hour. The lift is expected to be 2.5 miles long and will take approximately 16 minutes from one base terminal to the other.
