According to legend this town was named after card shark Joe King, who won the rights to the town in a poker match nearly a century ago. Kings Beach is known for being a funky little beach town that seems to never change. The main road Highway 28 is lined with cool shops, old-fashioned hotels, and a fine choice of restaurants. Summer definitely shines in the small California town with such close access to the water residents enjoy an abundance of summer activities like boating, Jet Skis, parasailing, paddleboarding, and much more.

Most homes in Kings Beach are forested peaceful settings with sweeping vistas of snow-capped mountains. Neighborhoods here consist of Brockway, Woodvista, Kingswood Estates and Kingswood West and are primarily made up of full-time residents. There is also Brockway Springs Estates, a gated, luxury, resort-type, lakefront complex where every lakefront and lakeview condominium is situated within mere yards of the lake.

The North Tahoe Event Center located in the heart of Kings Beach and adjacent to the Kings Beach State Recreation Area often plays host to festivals, concerts, and community events. The North Tahoe Event Center welcomes events of all size and type – from conferences and meetings to weddings and parties. The community of King’s Beach has a little something for everyone with quick access to the lake, ski resorts, golf and more you can’t beat this laid back beach town.
