The 32nd Annual Cushing Crossing

The 32nd Annual Cushing Crossing is the best event of the spring season. The original pond skimming contest is tentatively scheduled for May 11th, 2024 at 1pm*. Join in on the fun, watch big spills, and share some much-needed laughs with our celebrity judges and 2 of the best emcees around. Costumes are highly encouraged! The awards ceremony will immediately follow the event at Cushing Pond. Each category winner will win prizes from our sponsors: Yeti, Smith, Dakine, and Darn Tough. Event Details

  • Date: May 11th, 2024 (rescheduled from May 4th)
  • Time: 1pm
  • Location: Cushing Pond near the base of KT-22
  • Participant Registration: See details below
  • Spectating is free. We recommend bringing a chair, sun protection, & water.
  • Subject to change based on weather & conditions.

Registration

  • Registration begins @ 8am on Saturday, May 11th on the KT Deck (SAME DAY as the event)
  • Registration fee is $20, cash only.
  • Participant must be there in-person to register.

The Cushing Crossing Rules

  • Space is limited.
  • Costumes required and scores are heavily weighted to creativity of costume.
  • Registrant must be 18 or older and must be present to register (no one can register on behalf of any competitor).
  • This is a family friendly event. If your costume is inappropriate you will not be allowed in the start area.
  • Please bring your own life vest if you have one but if not, we will have loaners available.
  • If your entry includes more than one person, both people must be affixed to the same apparatus.
  • No pyrotechnics please.
  • For the open category, your apparatus must have the ability to turn and stop.
  • Male and female winners will be awarded in each category but only applicable to completed crossings (i.e. If you do not cross the pond you are not eligible for prizing if there are limited competitors in your category).
